The End is in Sight!!

First of all, let me just say thanks to those of you who voted on the name poll...and to those of you who haven't let me say; "There's still time!"
Now on to better news. I'm 38 wks today and when I went to the doctor for my checkup she said that my inner cervix was dilated to a 2 and the outer was at a fingertip (ie 1). I have never heard of the cervix referred to as an inner vs. an outer. Anyone out there have a clue what that means? I mean I'm assuming it means the front of the 'tunnel' is a one and the back is a 2...but if that's true, then how did she get past the one to check the 2? Anyway, so any insight you moms of many have would be nice. Last pregnancy there was not a thing going on down there at 38 wks. At 40 wks the doctor said I was 'maybe' a fingertip dilated. When I went into the hospital for the first time (at 40 wks 6 days) and was sent home I was dilated to a 2. The next afternoon when I saw the doctor I was a 3 and that evening when I went in for real it was at 5. So maybe this means I'll have the baby soon? I hope so....well relatively speaking anyway.
Patrick's good friend in Louisianna is getting re-baptized this Saturday and has asked Patrick to be the one to perform the honors. He agreed and is planning to drive down there (possibly with Isabelle) Friday night, baptize him Saturday and then drive home Sunday morning. It's only a five hour drive, so if I do go into labor, chances are good I won't have had the baby before he gets home...unless I go super duper fast or something. But it's a little worrying just the same. I also have my baby shower this Saturday morning and there were a lot of last minute preparations and stress that people have gone through to make it happen so I'd feel bad if I missed it. So the soonest the baby can come is Sunday night. (You still good to watch Isabelle Tammy?) He can also come anytime after Sunday, but preferably sometime next week, not the following. Okay that's it for the update. :)

Name Poll - Please Respond!

Okay so I only have three weeks before this baby is due (I'm hoping it will come in two) and we're still no closer to choosing a name. So I was wondering if you could all answer this question along with your reasons if any...and tell your friends so they'll answer too! Which name do you like better and why:

1) James Patrick Thaden

2) William Patrick Thaden

I like both of them and can think of good and bad reasons to use either one, but what do you think? Inquiring minds want to know!

Which Jane Austen Heroine are you?

I stole this from my sisters blog. I haven't read much Austen, so I don't really know anything about this person...

I am Marianne Dashwood!

Take the Quiz here!

"You are Marianne Dashwood of Sense & Sensibility! You are impulsive, romantic, impatient, and perhaps a bit too brutally honest. You enjoy romantic poetry and novels, and play the pianoforte beautifully. To boot, your singing voice is captivating. You feel deeply, and love passionately."

Hmm...

Video?

I've heard that the video links we send people sometimes don't open or take a really long time. So I thought I'd see if blogger would somehow load them faster. If it doesn't or if this really slows down your computer, let me know. I know some blogs that I've been to with videos as an entry really make my computer sluggish until their site is totally loaded...which takes about 3-4 times the normal amount of time. So if it does that, let me know and I"ll take it down. :) But if it works better than I'll upload more.

It just keeps getting bigger...

So I know I suck at updating...sorry. I just never feel like I have anything to contribute. We went to Utah for Christmas, it was fun, but my sister blogged about it so I didn't think I had much to add. Isabelle was very sick, but got everyone else even more sick after we left...we're talking doctors, ER, unable to breathe, etc... It made me glad she seems to have inherited Patrick's strong constitution and doesn't get too sick over anything. In my head I was looking forward to our trip to Utah followed by having the baby. Unfortunately it doesn't quite work like that and I still have at least three weeks left, assuming he comes on time and not a week late like Isabelle. I have been way more uncomfortable with this pregnancy (backaches, sideaches, pulled leg muscles which refuse to heal, contractions if I walk for more then two minutes, gigantor stomach, etc..) not to mention I have to chase Isabelle around this time. So rather than blog about how much pregnancy sucks, I've abstained and saved you all the constant rant. Anyway, so I still have three weeks and it seems like forever. I keep thinking I should do stuff to prepare, like get out the cradle and such, but then it seems silly to get it out and have it sit empty for weeks while Isabelle claims it as her toy before the baby gets here. I mean honestly I could get it out at the first signs of labor and still have time to sit around before the baby came. I figured out last night that from my first real contraction (ie lasted 20+ seconds, was followed by more at regular intervals) to delivery, I was in labor with Isabelle for 58.5 hours. I read that second babies are much faster, coming in as much as half the time. That's great, but it still means I probably have at least 29 hrs of labor to look forward to. So I could totally wait to get my hospital bag together, get the cradle out etc... I probably won't, just in case it only lasts 30 minutes or something insane like that, but I could.

Isabelle will be two years old on Sunday. That's crazy that she's so big already. I'll probably post some birthday stuff after this weekend. Until then here are some pictures of my ever expanding midsection. :)

Okay I know some of you are shaking your heads and saying...she's not THAT big, I don't know what her problem is. Well I feel like I'm THAT big, so I think that counts...and I'm already 23lbs heavier then I was when I delivered Isabelle so that says something...maybe that I like chocolate too much...hmmm. Anyway, it's very depressing. I don't know whether to hope for a 10 lb baby like Christine or to dread pushing out something that big. Given our family history I doubt it will be that big...I was 7lbs 8oz and Patrick was just over 9lbs, but a month overdue. Isabelle was 8lbs 1oz, so I figure this one will be about that. Okay that's all. :)
