I was sure it was a girl, so we had a bunch of girl names ready. Now I'm not sure what we'll name it. Right now we like William or James (middle name Patrick is a given), but I've been known to change my mind. Any suggestions from the peanut gallery?
Tomorrow (Oct 3rd) I'll be 21 weeks along. For those of you keeping track of my expanding waistline, here's a new picture:
People at church have finally started asking, and the RS is putting me in the newsletter for this month so soon everyone will know. I'm fine with that. I think it's totally obvious, but people that find out are shocked. They say things like; "But you're so little!! There's no way you could be that far along!" I don't know if they're serious or just being nice because I am way bigger than I was last time at this point. I'm also much more uncomfortable than I was last time. I don't remember feeling huge and awkward until the last trimester last time but I already feel gargantuan. I'm not sure if that's a boy/girl thing or a second pregnancy thing. I'm thinking the latter.
The state of my pregancy wardrobe is sad. I have two t-shirts, and two sweater type shirts that are too hot to wear yet. I have plenty of pants and skirts, but the shirts are seriously lacking. I have asked a few people where they bought their cute pregnancy clothes and have lots of suggestions that I'm ready to use as soon as we have money. Unfortunately this probably won't be until after I've had the baby. Luckily my mom took pity on me and bought be a shirt or two (I think...they're in the mail). Hopefully they fit and aren't too off from my own taste. But even if they aren't anything I'd buy, I'll still wear them 'cuz it's better than nothing.
The solo thing I did went well, except for the fact that my guitar was out of tune (oops!). Luckily the way the mic's were set up it didn't pick up my guitar as much as it should have so maybe no one noticed?
What else...hmm...I went through all of my baby clothes today in search of non gender specific clothes for the new baby. I was happily surprised to find that I had alot more boyish clothes than I thought I did. I got alot from Patrick's sister Tammy that were yellow/green that I made Isabelle wear, but used to belong to Tammy's boys. They're still in mostly good condition, so I'm not so worried about not having any boy things for the baby. I also found like 6 bags worth of stuff for Jenny that I probably wouldn't have kept even if the baby was a girl, but it's nice to share. I know I really appreciated it when we got so many clothes donations from people. Now we just need new crib stuff...the bumper, skirt, and sheets we have are all girly with flowers and such. Again, hopefully we'll have money sometime before the baby comes to get some new boyish stuff. Okay, I think that's a long enough post.
Oh, Tearese/Christine; how do you get the map thing to stay on your page? Mine just came up as a post.

Yeah, you have to paste it in the "Sidebar" area of your blogs html language. But, like I said, if you update your blog (go to template, customise, and pick a new one) it changes all the controls so its easier. Then you can just 'ad an element' and it shows you where to paste the stuff.
You can even pick the same layout you already have, it just makes it so you can edit it easier.
Kiera you are so big and pregnant! There, does that make you feel better?
I'm not so big! :P Yeah, someone asked Christine the same thing about the map on her blog and she answered there, so I figured it out. (It's at the bottom now)
Ethan's stepmom is the same amount of pregnant as you, and I never would have known she was pregnant if she didn't tell me. Seriously. But she's 6'4", so I guess the baby doesn't need to poke outwards cause it has plenty of room in there.
I hate regular names. I don't like William OR James. William because it's so blah, and because that's what Dave REALLY wanted to name Ethan, and James because it's the name of my cousin who's a complete nutter. But if you name the baby William, I will so totally call him Spike. There. You've been warned.

Yeah tall people can hide it a lot longer than shorter people. I'm not that big a fan of "regular" names either, but Patrick hates "wierd" names, so we have troubles agreeing on names. Yeah I thought it would be funny to name the baby after Spike....or if we called him Liam, that was Angels real name. ;)
why not just name him buffy and get it over with.
I know...Lestat!
I think I suggested that to Patrick once...I was kidding though of course. ;P
Kiera, I have maternity shirts! You are more than welcome to borrow them, come dig through them sometime and see if anything appeals to you.
Also, a friend showed me how to make crib sheets - it was really fast and we bought baby flannel on sale (only takes 2 yards and it was like $2/yd.) We did matching pillowcases and receiving blankets, too - and I can barely sew a straight line so that tells you how easy it was. Let me know if you want me to help you do that. I even have a coupon for the fabric if you would like it. :)
Heidi-
Yay maternity shirts! I'd definitely like to borrow some if you have them available...I think most of the ones I borrowed through Becky last time were actually yours. I don't really want to make sheets, but I guess that would be a good skill to have regardless (especially since your mom made one set of sheets for our cradle and then just gave me the material and elastic for the second set assuming I knew how to do it....they're in a box in the garage). So email me and we should set up a time to get together I guess. :)
Yeah for baby boys! That's so exciting. I always am excited for people when they get one kid of each gender. So that way at least you have one of each to start with. Brian and I like "unique" names (as you can tell with Maxtin) but we don't have the same definition of unique. He likes things with X's or Z's and I just like obscure, old timey names. I just pray we don't have another boy for a while.
Christine-
What were some of the other names you guys thought of for Max?
Good job with your map!
Kiera, since Max was the only name we agreed on we had very different ideas. I liked Adrian,Milo, Oliver, Marek, but Brian liked names like Blake, Axton, spike, anything with an X or Z in it, or just something hyper-masculine. I just pray our next two are girls since we had plenty of girls names!
Christine-
Yeah I think Tammy said that Cesar like those kind of names too. I'm glad that Patrick doesn't. I think I'd rather have him like old fashioned "boring" names then those super masculine x/z names. Your names were cute, but not anything that Patick would go for. ;)
I tagged you! It's about food, one of my favorite topics...
